can't go skiing high season this year but I have a chance to go to schladming on 9th April for a week. Rumour about that the resort closes 1 week after Easter Sunday. I know the resort is low-lying. Anyone got any experience of late season skiing here?
I know I can get to Obertauern in 30 mins by car so not really worried but any info would help - cheers

Hi, welcome to the forum. Never actually skied Schladming myself so don't know what its like, this link might help until someone who has been there can answer properly. The Ski Club have more detailed snow history but you have to be a member!

Going there in January.
For April I would expect lower part of the mountain to be green (with narrow white pistes) but good snow and skiing on upper runs.
I was in nearby Flachau on 1st Of April last winter and there were masses of snow down to the valley level, but after we left temperatures were high with lots of sun and it was melting quickly on lower parts.

Have skied in Scladming 5 times and a fine place it is. That being said that was always in January, but they have one of the biggest snow cannon infrastructures in Austria.

According to the info I have read, Schladming is best early season.
