All

Just been to see a friend of a friend who sells skis. He will sell me some "g force supersonic IQ", "Blizzard " at factory price with bindings.

Anyone used these or know aything about them? I usually use skis at 170 so the nearest I could get would be 174s with these which i dont think would be an issue.

type of skier i am.... On piste and good intermediate. Cruise with g/friend then when shes having a rest and coffee i have 20 mad minutes on my own. Like speed but also control. Want to improve my skiing and think these would last through to the next level of my skiing. Im 6ft 3 and at the moment 14 stone.

Blizzard skis used to be available in the UK at Ski Warehouse, although I am informed that they will not be this season. They may have some stock to get rid of. I ski on Blizzard X Cross 10's and love them on the pistes, but have recently had more fun on all mountain skis 80mm in the waist. You sound a bit like me when I ski, and I reckon you'd get on with something a bit more all round.

Hes give me the Blizzard dealer catalog 2009/10 and kept saying the manufactures were closed for 3 weeks then he would order them blah blah blah technicle blah blah blah you really want them blah blah blah nice colour blah blah blah special price. He knew my skiing probably better than me and the ones which were more expensive he steered me away from as they just wouldnt do my skiing justice.

What do you mean a bit more round?

Its the factory price bit that pisses me off, why big yaself up when you know with the click of a button you can be found out!

ALL round, by which I mean all mountain skis. They are usually a bit wider in the waist, and you might want slightly longer than you would carvers. They would enable you to play on the offpiste if you want to venture, but many of them make particularly good piste skis. My Scott Patrol's are quite basic level all mountain skis, but the difference in confidence to attack anything with them on was unreal. Heavier, nore stable, better edges, I was able to plough through anything that the carvers might have struggled with.
Its up to you though, if you intend to stick to the pistes you dont need wider skis, although I did find that it was easier to get a good edge on these because of the sidecut. Possibly me being a little lazy. I was also able to steam through the bumpy bits and the crud when other people were tiptoeing around them. Try, you might like! I'd suggest around 80mm in the waist to be able to notice the difference, although I'd ask Bandit what she thinks first as she is our resident exy.
