Hi folks,

I'm looking at going to Hinterglemm for a week, possibly around the 31 Jan 09. Can someone please advice me which are the best/most reasonable tour operators that travel here??? Only after cheap and cheerful B&B or self catering.

All options considered,

Thanks in advance

Off to Hinterglemm at the weekend!! Been there quite a few times and always stayed in Hotels. Being a 'real village' there seems to be a lack of self catering accomodation there.

I seem to remember self catered units up near the Zwolferkogelbahn but cant recall the name.

Perhaps other J2skiers can help?

Brucie,

Do you know the Hotel Reisinger in Hinterglemm ?

Off there on the 24th and was wandering what it's like.
Anything else I should look out for ? Heard the Goasstall is pretty good for apres ski.

I know where it is, but have never stayed there. Its in a central location just across the river from the town centre, and its no more than a 5 minute walk from anywhere in the village.

I cant recommend it, but I have been to Hinterglemm 7 times and never had a bad hotel.

The Goasstall is legendary!!! Typical Austrian Party pub on the Reiterkogelbahn side of the village. From there you have a 200metre ski and about 50 metre walk to you hotel.(Thats if you CAN walk  )

Another good apres ski bar is outside at the main village crossroads. You will hear it!!!

I love Hinterglemm. Good skiing, Good Apres, Good fun, Nice locals.

As I've said, I'm off there Tomorrow(10th). Will report back on conditions.

Have a great trip and thanks for the reply.
Wrap up warm tomorrow night .. forecast says it will be -18c

Look forward to your report !!

Maybe you can recommend the "easier" red runs on your return ... and also the latest lunch and beer prices !!

G - Hinterglemm was its usual fantastic self!! The snow was great,no complaints there, and the town as much fun as ever!! Snow is apparently forecast so conditions will be absolutely perfect for you.

You will be paying about 3E for a gluhwein and 4E max for a big beer. Good value I say, if you throw in the apres ski entertainment.

Have a ball - I have to wait till next January for my return to the SkiCircus!!!

Onionrage - You were correct , and it was a hoot!!!
