My new years resolution was to get the first lift on new years day and ski the powder that was forecast, so that's it for the year now, I did get up and grab the first lift and I was the first on the slopes )
There was some great skiing around although it was a bit noisy as they were dropping explosives from a helicopter to release snow on some of the more unstable slopes.
Highlight of the day though was chancing on the piste basher driver coming off the black into the village, he said the run was clear to ski but the steep section hadn't been prepared which sounded altogether too good to miss. So, oddly, I was not only first up, I was first to ski down as well.

they were too slow :) a couple fairly comically tried to get past on the schuss at the top, in tucks while I was putting my gloves back on but I lost them quickly in the red section, so far behind that I was stopping and taking photo's
not sure about that, I expect to make it up to a mountain restaurant sometime after my 120th birthday, position my atomic powered hover car near a window and slip away some time after the 10th post lunch genepi :D

Lovely pics Ise - getting very itchy for some ski action now. (So much so that when the xmas decorations go in the cupboard later today, I'm going to get my ski holdall out and pack it!)
