Actually, we weren't skiing, it's not a downhill station, they have this thing of promoting winter pursuits without lifts, snow cannons or piste bashers, so we took snow shoes. I've skied the other side of the ridge many times touring out of Grimentz but never skied down to St Martin, today we took the car round though.
A great day out though, a nice ascent through the forest to the Alpage de Lovégno and a picnic then a different route down. For fun I navigated down solely on GPS which is highly unnerving, I was constantly wanting to get a map out :oops:

Looks really pretty and peaceful. Did you see much wildlife? There have plenty of sightings of deer in Grimentz village this week.
