Anyone got first hand experience. Thinking of heading down Christmas Eve for 4 nights. Plan to board for 2 days and explore the other, maybe take a trip up to Jungfraujoch on the train.

Went last year tino. Did most of our skiing at First. I'm only at an early stage in my skiing so what was good for me may not be for you. We did get the train up to Kleine Scheidegg and skied down to Wengenalp which is a very easy ski. Not sure what the other pistes on that side are like.

Ise has skied that side I think. We had a discussion earleir this week about the merits of the Jungfrau transport system.

There's a half pipe at Shreckfeld but not sure about other snow park stuff.

First is the sunnier side. The runs down from Kleine Scheidegg to Grindelwald get shaded by the Eiger etc.

We enjoyed our time there. Going back again January 10th. Night life is low key. Gepsi bar is good.

Finally got round to taking the plunge - and booked a five night trip (with six days ski-ing) to Grindelwald for next Sunday.

Any tips on what's good/not so good would be appreciated!

Lota. Where you staying? We arrive in Grindelwald on Saturday for the week. Went last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. tino_11 has just got back from there.

Try and get over to either Wengenalp or right down to Wengen from Weds onwards as there's the Lauberhorn downhill on, and the mens combined.

We'll probably head that way on Thurs / Fri.

Thanks Jim.

I arrive sometime around Sunday lunchtime and hope to be on the slopes soon after!

Staying at the Bel-Air Eden; good price, obviously not too grand but close to the railway station, which is important for arrival and departure on Friday afternoon. Also happy to take a booking for five nights rather than a weekend to weekend deal.

Definitely intend to head for the World Cup training/racing before I go home. Also have to go up the Schilthorn as I have nephew who is made on all things 007 - and I need to take a picture or two for him.

And just to get me more in the mood - it's snowing outside in the 'high alps' where I live!

Didn't get to Schilthorn as it's a long trek by train and I'd rather be skiing as it's the only week we get.
