Here's what my life looks like this winter.

Up at six with the family. Get the breakfast and lunches. They leave at seven and I sit down with a coffee and an online crossword, check the forecast for the day. I get a few chores done befor getting the gear ready. Which gear depends on the conditions. Catch the first lift at ten (ten minutes away). Work through my selected sliding tools for the day. Converse with lots of weekday regulars. Generally head home at one except wednesdays (or when the conditions are just too good to leave. Pick my daughter up from school at 2.15. It's such a chore, but a couple of days a week I take her straight to the ski hill for a couple of hours. Go home and prepare family diner.

Wednesdays are race days. Running gates with coaching in the morning, ski challenge team race in the afternoon. Bar afterwards. Weekend mornings are for getting out with the other alpine carvers (who have to work) Afternoons with my daughter.

Why do I feel guilty ? Life should not be this good

Will you have enough money to see you through to the spring?

If it's a yes, then you should not feel guilty, it's not your fault you have no work right now, and you have a duty to live your life to the full :D

You wont meet many people who you think you would rather be than yourself, I guess.

No guilt without sin.

Obviously, no sin.

So no guilt.

Just ski, board, snow.

Oh, one other thing. By the Mac-criteria, you do qualify as a ski-bum. No work, just ski/board. So that's OK.

Come April, that's different. I really hope things get fixed up for you good style.

Yes, you deserve it after all these years of hard work... I assume.
