Hello everyone I am brand new to site and live in Preston, Lancashire, UK. I have been skiing twice previously, both times to Mongenevre which is a great place. I thought I would go for it this time around and I have booked Banff (14/1/09). As of now I don't have boots, skiis or a lift pass. I would like to reserve before setting off. Anyone got any info on the best way to go? I have considered contacting my hotel - would they be able to access a slighter cheaper package deal. Whats the apres like?

Ultimate Ski and Ride for your skis and boots-they are the best in town I think. If you want a dedicated powder ski go to SnowTips. Avoid Ski Stop like the plague. Get your lift pass through the tour company, or the hotel as it will be cheaper than walking in to the SkiHub and buying it. Apres Lively-you get lucky if you are there on the week that most of the Bow Valley receive their paychecks, this happens every 2 weeks.

Thanks Ross

I think I will contact the Hotel and see what they have to offer. As for dedicated powder ski I appreciate the advice but not just yet.... I still look like Basil Fawlty on acid. SO much fun though I cant smile wide enough :D !

Brewsters - did a fair bit a reasearch and this one was central, you get a breakfast (of sorts) and the whole package price was really good. Stayed in what I can only describe as - a bail hostel - in Montgenev last time so this has just got to be better. Do you know it?

Ideal location, just beside you you have Coyotes restaurant which is fantastic-locals favourite. Hoodoos across the road and down the stairs.

I don't think you can be better placed in Banff...

I think it is one of the few hotels in Banff that is still family owned also..
