Does anyone use a sport camera that attaches to your helmet/goggles? Sort of thinking of getting one for our next holiday :D

Hi SkiGirl,

I have been looking at head cams for my christmas ski trip and couldnt wait for the O'neill H Series Campack. It is a sd recorder with goggle camera all built into a rucksack with a handy button on the rucksack strap to turn on/off and start / stop recording. All sounded great. However when I recieved it, I found that when recording a loud buzzing was always present. The microphone worked but the buzzing on the footage was annoying. It may have just been a faulty unit but the retailer I purchased it from tried a few more and all of them were the same so prehaps they had a faulty batch (which they were looking further into). As I was not happy with the buzzing I exchanged the Campack for a POV.1 which I absolutely love.... Yes its more expensive but its great. The only problem being that there is no led on the wireless remote to let you know when you are recording and you have to switch it on and off on the main unit. However the quality is amazing and you can also reformat an 8gb sd card to work with it although it specifies a maximum of 2gb. All in all I am glad that i now have the POV.1 and cant wait to try it out on the slopes. You may want to look at www.actioncameras.co.uk as they have a wide selection of cameras although there are also many other online retailers.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for that. If you don't mind me asking, what sort of money did you pay? :D

The O'neill campack is £250.00 and I managed to get a real bargain as I did a straight swap. I returned the campack and took away a few day old demo POV.1 which had no or very little use and was still all boxed and looks like its never been used. The POV.1 retails at £549.00 which is a lot but I have tested it around the house and at work and it seems a great camera.

Obviously I had a real bargain and the company I did the deal with even emailed me to say that I had recieved nearly to good a deal.

If your interesed let me know and I will pass on their details as they may have a few more demo units for sale but you may not get the same price as I think they regretted selling it to me for that especially as I am sure the unit was new and had only been removed from the box and turned on a couple of times and had seen no action at all.
