Hi everyone
Was a little shocked early this year to be diagnosed with epilepsy, ( simple partial siezures to be accurate) Have lost consciousness only once, awhile back now. Been treated with appropriate medication since, sorry to go on but info may help or not? what now happens insurance wise, advice would be appreciated.

After the day I have had that seems like the perfect solution. I really should consider working the winter season in Austria. Plus their pharmacy's seem lovely, and they call their Pharmacists Doctor.
Umm it does have a certain ring to it

Hi if you look on the NSE website there is information regarding flying, insurance precautions etc with epilepsy. From what I know you must tell your insurance company of your condition, the premium may be a bit higher but they can not discriminate and not insure you.
Just an extra precaution we always advise in Pharmacy is to take your medication at regular times but if you go abroad with different time zones you must adjust the time to take them. If you need any more advice please feel free to PM me.

Hi. In the past I have had to declare epilepsy and to be honest it hasn't made too much difference to the premium.
My advice however is to look at various companies and see how things are worded. I say this because I have had to answer yes to some questions which has pushed the price up considerably, but the following year I went with another company and although I had to declare the same medical condition, the question was worded slightly differently so I could answer no and the premium literally halved. Hope this makes sense!!
I have recently been diagnosed with MS so I was pretty worried when I got my travel quote this year, but it was much the same as before. I think that if your condition is stabilised and you don't envisage having any problems during your time away it is relativley straight forward. Good luck!!

Rose, that is very good info, I didn't know that. It does highlight the needfor being open about your ailments.
I have found that I no longer have to declare the knee orthroscopy, since the questions relate to treatment within the past 5 years.
Rose, I don't want to lose you to J2ski, but you wouldn't like a transfer to Dr Lanners in Niederau for the winter? :-)
