varioflex skis absolutly brilliantly, smooth and solid in all snow conditions the transition from ice to crud was seemless....variocut on the other hand is a different story, the main problem being that if you are off the ground and come back to earth the radius changes and pitches you straight out the front door, i saw this happen to the atomic rep twice on one run and had the same sensation myself

btw, can you remember what bindings were fitted to the test skis ??

they were all mounted up with neox 412s
