Have never been to a ski/board show and wondered whether it was worth the trip to Birmingham next Friday. Do the companies who exhibit there selling ski holidays offer good - or indeed any - discounts? I have seen some good discounts online so maybe it is not worth the petrol going to the NEC? Is it worth going anyway for a day out?

If you have not been before it should be an entertaining day out. Parking at NEC is reported to be currently £8, and sandwiches inside the show are worth a miss, consider taking your own )

Does that mean there is no mock French mountain cafe serving tartiflette and vin chaud then?

I did Birmingham and London last year - if it wasn't that I'd got free tickets for the Brum one then I'd have felt very short changed - show was very poor and almost amateurish after the London one.

No idea what it will be like this year as I'm not going - and parking charges were one of the factors. Olympia was great though, still time to get along if you can.

Tartiflette was available at Olympia yesterday, along with Bratwurst AND more importantly Zillertaller Pils.
I'd go if you were planning to.

Regarding discounts, you will get better deals online than booking up with someone who is at the show. I spoke to many companies yesterday and none were offering anything more than 5% off, which is less than the online discounts usually. Ask about though, and be prepared to make someone an offer there and then - you never know!

Thanks for replies - on balance probably won't go. Booking tickets online only saves £1 each and £1 off parking and we are about 90 miles away. Some good discounts are starting to appear online.
