We're all Doomed, DOOMED I TELL YOU

Well FTSE is sitting down 7.85% and the world markets are panicking. Luckily I don't have a job to lose but I would bet quite a lot of people are in trouble right now.

I count myself lucky to work in the mortgage industry and still have a job.

Hard times indeed.

We need more deregulation. The financial sector is stiffled and we need to be creative. How about we put all our banks into high return investment packages and sell them to the Chinese. We can then put our heads back in the sand.

:DI bet everynone in the country is glad that the muppets dealing with this crisis in government , cabinet and Gordon Brown do nothave one qualification between them relevent to the positions they hold.

Everyone of them is un-skilled ,un-qualified and has never had a real job or responsibility in the real world!and are only in the positions they are because they all smoked drugs at university together!

Makes you realise what a complete waste of time a university education is if this is the calibre of people it churns out!!!!!!! :x

Anyway on a much happier note i am off to BsM at the beginning of Nov for a break to get ready for another ski season ,and i feel a cold ,snowy winter comming on :D :D

No degree gives you the knowledge to deal with this. And don't blame all bankers and goverment for this. To get to this stage the fault lies in a lots and lots of people, and i don't beleive any bright mind would be able to bring it together very quickly.

I have been talking to my boss about it a lot lately, he usually plays in the market a fair amount (in the 5 figure range) but he pulled everything out a week ago. If it gets much worse we might all just be camping out on our porches with shot guns (for the record I don't own a gun), but I told him I am going to be selfish, I just want to ski :mrgreen:

But seriously, this is VERY scary, It looks like G.M. might fail by next year, they were the biggest automaker in the world just over 10 years ago, businesses large and small are starting to failing at an increasing rate. Stock markets are in free fall. Iceland just collapsed, their money is worthless (You guys probably know more about that than I). I am lucky that I live in western Washington, we have been fairly insulated from the problems in the rest of U.S. and now the World, but that wont last forever.

With my wife now working as a teacher (as a sub for now) our income has increased 50+% and when she gets a full time job, it will nearly double. Her job shouldn't go anywhere and mine seems fairly secure for now.

I hope this doesn't get as bad as it could, but as bad as it does get, I hope the best for all of my fellow skiers here :D .

well done :roll: it's doom sayers like you that compound the problem. All econmies are cyclic, we've had the boom, now comes the bust. Happens every 20 years or so. Yes GM might fail, but equally so may lots of companies, it doesn't make it any different from the last time this happened.
