Hi

i want to go skiing/ snowboarding for the first time. But I only have mid November off from work.

Someone suggested Hintertux as there should be snow.

Here's the questions........

Is this a good place for a beginner to go?
How long are the ski runs this time of year?
If I stay in Mayrhofen will there be some apre-ski going on?

And most importantly .. is there another option in Europe, price isn't a problem.

A few non glacier resorts in Europe will have a limited amount of terrain open in November. Going to a glacier resort is a safe bet, and glacier skiing is not normally too steep for learning. For glacier resorts, Hintertux will be open, as will Tignes and Zermatt, and possibly L2A, Stubai?? Anyone know for sure?
If you are a beginner the runs will seem quite long enough! If you fancy Mayrhofen, the bus to Hintertux does take a while each morning. If you stayed in Tignes Val Claret (for example), you would be much closer to the lift.

I'm part of a group heading for Kaprun to ski on the kitzsteinhorn glacier area on 20th Nov. It's my third year on this start of season trip (and I beilive this is the fifth year it's run), it's always been a good laugh with a great crowd of people from beginners through to experts. Last year we even got to ski over in Zell am See the early season conditions were so good.

I think theres still places on the trip as a friend emailed me earlir this evening to say she had managed to wangle the time of and booked.
