Clearly the facts on snow have shown that Canada gets more snow early and has beat out best of Europe for in-season snow totals. I would check out Red, Fernie and Whitewater as good bet. Fernie had close to 40 feet of snow last season! I went last season and had an incredible trip. Still a bargain even with change in exchange rate. Watch for air specials
Canada vs Europe for SNOW- Canada hands down

I knew someone would ask this. Of course location makes a huge difference. I think one place was Saas Fa(Swiss?), another was La Thuile(Italy) and it was Serre Chevalier in France from memory. No doubt Western Canada has epic powder and far more snow but I'm not good enough to ski powder or the more challenging off-piste.

that's marvellous, now any chance we can all get together and pull Canada a little closer to the UK :?:
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

I'm not sure why you'd call it a bargain. Just looked at CrystalSki's website for a trip 10th Jan flying from London and prices start at
£519 for Canada
£281 for France
£345 for Austria
£315 for Italy
£292 for Switzerland
for self-catering.

Where in Canada? France? Austria? Italy? Switzerland? All are big countries with a massive range of resorts/standard. If I said I could fly to Mauritius for £800 HB and London (for Scarborough) for £100 HB it wouldn't be a fantastic comparison.

yes but the reason you can go to Scarborough for 700 quid less than Mauritius is because Scarborough is a darn sight closer :?:
In terms of snow quantity and terrain then quite clearly Canada is pound for pound cheaper than Europe, but if you just to go skiing then Europe is still far cheaper, even with the crappy Euro and the notsobad dollar. It doesn't matter if you get 9ft of snow in Canada and only 3ft in Europe you can still ski on 3ft

I can only go a week at a time, so dont want to waste any precious time travelling. So I go to Europe and can always manage to be on the snow, max 6 hrs after I have gone out my own front door.
I'm a laydee
