Hi All,
Any one been to previous ski shows, intending to go to either NEC or London, or with any opinions as to whether its worth the trip or which show is the best?
I'm thinking of going to the NEC show but don't want to waste my time driving up from Cornwall if it's not worth it.

I've got tickets for the London show...the programme looks great. But I've not been before so I can't advise you, sorry.

I've been to the NEC one twice but probably wont bother again. It annoys me that you have to pay entry to what is basically a load of companies trying to sell their stuff. They should be paying us to go!

The plus side with the NEC is that it's fairly close to Tamworth Snowdome so you can at least get some runs in.

I have been to the London show for the past 3 years, and whilst its nice to go and talk to people about skiing, resorts, equipment etc, it is basically full of people trying to flog their stuff to you, for which as Ellistine rightly points out, we get charged for.
I have managed to blag it as a trip out on expenses through work, but if I was paying myself I probably wouldnt bother.

Have just spent the weekend at Southampton Boat Show which was fantastic as I'm a boaty type in the summer. Lots going on and obviously lots to buy. Appreciate the main reason for the show is to flog stuff to the punters. Thought I'd try a ski show if there was more than just resorts and tour companies selling their wares. If the only equipment retailers are the likes of Atomic, Snow & Rock etc that I've seen on the exhibitors list I may as well just go to the stores to get my stuff.

I have been to the shows quite a few times including Birmingham where I brought my first pair of skis. I prefer London where I can go to the show for a couple of hours then into the west end and do the tourist bit. Not to sure if I am going this year though. It's quite good fun and I don;t think the entrance fees are too expensive.

I used to go, but don't go any longer unless I can get free tickets. The majority of space seems to be given over to ski equipment retailers, selling at retail prices. If it's London, it's pricey to get to. If it's the NEC, parking is expensive.
