5 positive points 70% of women skiers do

So you have read the 30% women skier post!
Ever wonder what the other 70% of women skiers do to make that ski holiday great?
Here it is!
This is a result of "observations" and personal research!
1. This is perhaps the very most important point that all smart women do to make that ski holidat great!
Refuse to take lessons from boyfriend/husband/friend of husband/local bartender/boss/lover etc,,,,,
Trust me! Look around for a great ski instructor who is qualified, acceptable and learn faster with no ego issues!
2. Get better than "him"! Men will not admitt this,,but secretly all men love to try to catch up to a great women skier! It is that famous "chase" context! Just watch a great women skier go down an expert run! An instant silence! Male skiers seem to be frozen! All eyes are on,,,,, The ski slope is a great equalizer,,there are not male/female runs! Just watch this winter!
3.Know more about skiing! That 70% are learning about all aspects of skiing. Should I get specific? All skiers admire someone who knows,,,,,really knows about skiing! If you want to become better you will have no choice but to learn about;ski design, ski performance, ski tradition, etc,,,,,
4.Never but never complain about ski conditions! A great skier skis all sorts of conditions.A great skier adapts skiing style to conditions! You become better when skiing gets tough,,,,stay on hill and meet the real skiers! (the rest are at the bar complaining about too much sun, too much ice, too much snow, etc,,) Not sure if 70% of women practice this right now but many are discovering the "other ski conditions"!
5.This last item may cause some "issues" with couples or live in "partners" but if really you want to be a great skier you must "practice" this! I see more and more women actively practicing this point! You take charge of your skiing material! That means you must know your skiing needs and goals and do not others tell you what is best for you!
Let me provide an excellent example!
I met a neighbour who skis and is lokking for new pair of skis, I offered her a great ski at 80% off retail value! She was interested but had to "consult" her ex! He tells her the ski is too good for her, too high performance, too "hot"!
Two hours later guess who calls me about the ski!
It is not magic or very complex ,,thus 70% of women are getting to know about skiing and make their own decisions about their needs!
No ski is too hot for a women!
No ski run is too difficult for a women!
No ski condition is too bad for a women!
70% of women know this!
It all depends on your atittude and skiing competence!
Some people I know went up to the Ottawa river for a freestyle kayaking class with ex world champion Eric Jackson. After struggling to master some moves, a guy in the group (known for his ego)was complaining that his new paddle was useless and and of poor design. Eric Jackson asked to try the paddle. He went out on the wave and performed some amazing cartwheels and spins etc. EJ paddled back into the eddy to rejoin the group. He handed the paddle back to it's owner and said "now it's fixed".

Ahh Pavel. I think you reveal too much. This post will test relationships! Far better to quietly acknowledge the ladies' skills, but do so quietly. Now for your points.
1. Don't teach your wife to ski (or drive) it is too emotive. The man will try to resolve the emotional problem, not the technical issue.
2. With regards to skiing with my wife, there is no greater skiing joy for me than skiing side by side, turn for turn. Last year, in Saas Fee, there was a set of conditions, (moguls with deep fresh snow over, that cried out to use downward unweighting as the best technique. I wanted to show our friends how this could help, so I asked my OH to demonstrate. With good reason, I have to say, she is heaps more stylish than me at DU. What a coward was I!
3. Know about skiing. This may be good advice. It is not true in our situation, I have the engineering principles as an advantage. But when you look at the way Bandit approaches issues, she is clearly knowledgable, and interested in furthering ski knowledge.
4. Complaining about ski conditions. Mmmmm .... nope. Not in Niederau. This is where my Blackburn ski friend, halfway down a sheet ice run, says "Not bad Mac, you can move it, know what I mean!"
Not that we ever actually use the word "Ice". "It's a bit marbley Mac?", "Bubbley underneath", "Bit nippy, here and there" All of which, my frau says, "Sheet ice then?" This is realism, ours is male bravado. Don't get me wrong. The OH is just as capable, skiing the difficult stuff. She just prefers to have a G&T, and look at the view. And who can knock that? Much smarter than me.
5. No arguements with this one Pavel. My OH is always keen to try new equipment, and discard if it doesn't work, try something else. I, on the other hand, skiied on the same skis for 26 years. Length ~ 210s!
After the above reflections, what I agree with is:
No ski is too hot for a women!
No ski run is too difficult for a women!
No ski condition is too bad for a women!
It all depends on your attitude and skiing competence!

DaveMac,
I strugggled with this one for many weeks! I realized that perhaps I was "revealing" to much about our hidden "values"!
Thanks for the comments. All I can saw is you have a great wife, skiing partner and,,,,,soulmate!
Now I know where I can send my Volk Super G 210 cm! Did you know that in my region there is a ski race which allows only +205 cm skis to be used! They must also be 10 years or older!
There is a prize for the skier who has traveled the longest distance to get to race! Should I send you an entry form! I will pay the fee and even give you those Super G skis! Really!
Speaking of ice! My wife took a ski course a day after it rained and then hit -15! Sheer wall to wall ice! Most skiers would have gone home. She stayed and now loves ice! She understands how to "modify" your skiing technique for ice!
Good luck in the contest! May the best women win! ( am pretty sure you will not Dave)

I forgot the most important positive point that women skiers have over men skiers!
Past 14 years old women still have an "open mind" about learning skiing from another person (male or female)!
Past 14 years old,,men well let us admit it, they know it all!
They will not listen to their father, mother, teacher, and even coach (unless he/she is an olympic champaion)!
By the time they are in the 20's not only do they know all the answers and techniques,,, but they will insist in showing you there "depth of knowledge"!
Here is a typical pre-lesson conversation with male skier!
"I want to learn to ski thoses moguls" (in one hour)!
"No no I do not want to practice basic moves,,,I know that"!
These "special" skis I just bought for moguls do not work!
Ya ya I know,,but that is not how I ski!
I can't do it because my legs burn!
The skis are too long! (or too sharp, or too narrow, or too fast,,you pick)
In short the women skier comes into ski class as a "student". the male skier comes as a instructor "mimic" That is learn by imitating the ski instructor!
