I am staying in Igls next February and Inghams have advised us of the loss of the free ski bus. Does anyone know why this service will no longer be operating? I e-mailed the hotel and the tourist board, no reply from either.

I would get back to Inghams. From what I remember of Igls, I went there last year on a night trip to the bobsleigh run, the only accomodation is way down an enormous hill. It took about 25mins in a mini-bus.
In previous years if you stay around the Innsbruck area you get some sort of visitor pass that entitles you to free ski-bus transfer, and money off other tourist attractions.
May-be something will be laid on with your lift pass. You definately will need some sort of transport if you are staying where I think you will be.
I'm a laydee

Thanks RoseR

We stayed in Igls village in Feb this year. The hotel was excellent and next to the Cable car. The only downside was as beginers, the Patscherkofel mountain was to difficult for us. We used the free bus to get to Mutters, we had great time, nice easy runs. We rebooked for next year beacuse the bus covered seven ski area's and as we improved we wanted to try different resorts.

Have just had a reply from Inghams. The reason the Ski Bus will not be operating is due to the owners of the Patscherkofel resort, they do not want guests going to other ski resorts. The hotels in the village are not happy but there is nothing they can do.
