Hotels in Obergurgl

Well, after all your helpful input we've decided to go to Obergurgl (13-20 Dec).

At the moment I'm undecided between the Hotel Gamper and the Madeleine. Perhaps you could help:-

1: How far is the Gamper from the village?
2: Is there much difference between the ski-in/out possibilities of each?
3: The Madeleine offers credit for its pizza restaurant - any idea how much (one of our party is a VERY plain eater)?
4: Do hotels in Obergurgl offer any lunch faciltities - We stayed in Hintertux a few years ago and they always had a complimentary bite - usually some pasta dish and some nice cake. I don't think they advertised this so it was a great extra.

Try and google each hotel and Obergurgl itself, you may find some tripadvisor or hoildaywatchdog reports to help.

Hi Dermot

From what I can see the Gamper is right next to the main ski lifts. If this is the case, you'd be right in the centre of the village and could ski back pretty close to your front door.

If I remember rightly, the Madeleine is a few minutes walk from the centre and the lifts. There's a brilliant bus service though if you're not too fussed about being right on the slopes.

If I was going back I think I'd be tempted to go to the Gamper. It comes out number one in the resort on trip advisor.
