ellmau is low as a town, so who knows what the snow will be like, but they have great snow making facilities and the nursery slopes are northfacing. If it's good, then you're onto a winner as you're beginners as the nursery slopes are a dream - the most fab place. However, it's very easy to get higher up and when you're there, they'll point you in the right direction up the road. Can't quite remember the name of the towns, but it's very easy and your lift pass will cover all.

Hope you have a good time.

Hi,
Low resort but not sure about March-check out www.skiclub.co.uk/skiclub/reports and www.snoweye.com for weather reports and webcams. I went to Ellmau a few years ago and loved it-great wheat beer (weissbier) every lunch time. Everyone was friendly.

Hi
just spotted your link, A few years ago we skied twice in mid march first time as beginners had no problems, does depend on weather though.
The area around Ellmau, ie the Ski-Welt is vast, so there are other options like Westendorf, Hopfgarten and Brixen in the next valley, not far to drive if the need arose.
