Hi - we are 3 ladies with flights booked to Milan Linate for a ski weekend at the beginning of March. Can anybody help with a suggestion of a good resort which is reasonably close to Milan (ie less than 2 hours away)? Have looked at Champuloc but cannot find a reasonably priced hotel for 3 nights over a weekend. We are decent skiers, and would love to find ourselves in a reasonably sized, reasonably lively ski village.
Any help or suggestions appreciated!
Thanks

Courmayeur? A little further up the Aosta Valley but it's all Autoroute and dead easy to get there.
Did you try the Hotel Castor in Champoluc? Stayed there a couple of years ago and thought it was very good value for the standard. Champoluc's not the wildest of towns for apres though.

Thanks for these suggestions. I am going to try and stick to Champoluc for now. The difficulty is finding a hotel that will take a booking for 3 nights over this period. I have tried the Tourist Office and see what response I will get.
Otherwise, going elsewhere!

I have booked to go to Champoluc in March and used SKI 2, very good package put together for us for a short break.

They specialise in Champoluc and San Cassiano, accomodation, transfers, lift pass, half day ski guiding on first day and lunch voucher for slopes each day all in the price, though perhaps would have chosen Milan Malpensa as I believe Linate adds 30 or 45 minutes to the transfer as it is the wrong side of Milan!

If you are going for less than a week it very difficult to find accommodation the hotels want 7 days. I am off for a long weekend in Passo Tonale which is 129k's
from milan which takes about 2hours, and I also found a hotel called Hotel Negritella which is three star, check it out on the net.
