Have found this little resort, smaller than i would normally go for but it looks quite charming.

Anyone got any real views on the place??

thanks

We holidayed in Risoul 2 years ago. Charming is a perfect description. I seem to remember it was shady due to north facing slopes but head over to Vars for some sunny pistes. A truely delightful, authentic French feeling village.

Went there last year, none of the hype, great, no loud discos, great, the people already there were so friendly. loved it. We stayed the Vars side. whilst not a big resort was eneough for us. Twas the year of not too much snow, we were lucky in that respect, but quiet uncrowded slopes. Loved it. did i say we loved it? Well we did.

Was there for new year 2 years ago. We had excellent snow. Really good intermediate skiing especially over the link from risoul to vars. lots of variety of piste. really enjoyed the skiing. 3 star hotel we stayed in was rubbish and run entirely by english people so not very authentic french experience. there is limited nightlife (french teenagers)but a couple of really good restaurants (although a limited number). There's a really nice farmers market there a couple of times a week. Flew into Turin on a package and transfer was a nightmare (about 5 hours) on a coach stopping off at a million resorts on the way. So pros and cons but most importantly the skiing was really good for intermediates.

Hi there. I went to Risoul last February for a week. There was buckets of snow!!! The town is really nice and so far is fairly untouched by British tourists. Last year I think there was someting like only 400 British tourists at any one time with only Crystal and Thomson as operators.

Stayed at the Balcons de Sirus and you could ski down from the hotel to the lifts and back there in the evening. Really nice apartments with good facilities and only a five min walk to town.

The town is great. Probably 5 or 6 restaurants and a few bars including the Morgan which is the Crystal operated hotel. Nice atmosphere and had a few really good nights there. The town almost feels pedestrianised there are so few cars and has all the essentials.

Off to Schladming this year in Austria and has similar write ups to Risoul. If you want to know anything further then let me know.
