Hi,
I was in Samoens from the 9th - 12 January and we skied a bit in Morillon.

We had 2 days of snow and 2 bright clear days. The conditions were fantastic.
Don't know if you've been to Morillon before, but of the ski areas in the Grand Massid it is probably the one that suffers most when it warms up.
That said, the snow was the best I've known there in 5 visits.

Get a Grand Massif pass and go to Flaine. The snow there is great and there are some lovely runs from the top.
Les Carroz was excellent. The snow was clinging to the trees and the the scenery was stunning.

The runs down to Morillon get a bit heavy towards the end of the day but the trip back is worth it after a great day skiing.

Enjoy!
Bryan

I was in Les Carroz last week for 4 days up until Sunday. If there's been snow, Morillon is superb and i wouldn't bother going to Flaine. Morillon and Les Carroz have nice blues and reds through forests and the restaurants/cafes are cheaper than in the Flaine bowl.
If there hasn't been recent snow or its warming up a bit then head to Flaine. This time of year there are no queues in Morillon during the week - getting busier on Saturdays and Sundays as locals come up for the weekend.
The sun hits Morillons slopes about 10.30ish.
Although a tame green run, Marvel is a great run down through the trees -there's some good off shoots into the trees on both sides.

Have fun,
D
