Has anyone been to this resort any advise and tips, and why can't I get snow reports from j2ski.com about this resort.
I live in Luxembourg and La Bresse is only 240k from me and I am thinking of making a day trip. In fact from London it is probably the closest skiing, except Scotland,to be had as it is only 800k (plus the Channel)

Sorry, just checked Google maps and Fort William Scotland is 815k from London. So for French Skiing La Bresse is closer in K @ 800k than Scotland.

Didn't seem such a popular thread first time round, but, at risk of running the same fate, has anyone been to La Bresse? Or any of the resorts in Les Vosges? :?:

Hi,
I went to La Bresse Hohneck last year. I like it and plan to go again this year. I have only ever skiied in the Pyrenees and La Bresse - so I cannot compare it to the Alps. They're are plenty of pistes and should keep a good imtermediate skiier happy.

Cool, thanks. Think I might pop over there for the day on Saturday. Maybe even stay overnight if the conditions are good and I can find a cheap, convenient b&b.

I am the original poster and did go in March 2008 for a day. It is a long drive to go and come back in one day. However is was good enough for me to do it again in March 2009, but for two days. The resort is quite good to visit from Luxembourg given that it can be done.
The skying is OK, A an +60 average level I was content.

The area was pretty dead on the Tuesday night. I ended up eating in the Hotel for lack of attractive choice around.
I understand that some money has been spent in the closed season. Hopefully to improve the "restaurant" at the bottom of the lifts.It was a dreadful place, to be avoided if possible.
I will go again and hope to get a couple of days in the next few weeks.

Sounds good, think I may try this weekend then. Have been advised it might take 3hrs to get to from Lux though depending on snow/traffic, was hoping for nearer 2.
