I am arriving at 6am in Bourg St Maurice on the overnight Eurostar on a Saturday in Jan, can someone help as to how two of us can get up to Les Arcs 1800 from the train station without paying for what I expect to be an expensive taxi ?

Hi Happy New Year !

There is a bus a the train station going to Les Arcs.
I think it's around 10 euros each way.
You can book on line at www.http://www.autocars-martin.com/.

Have fun !

hi, happy new year

thanks for the info, I dont suppose your local knowledge extends to where I book to in 1800 for MGM Les Alpages de Chantel apartments ?

I have been on the website you gave me and there are three different places listed in 1800, Charvet, Croisette and Villards

cheers

Hi, I'm sure you already know about the Funicular which runs to Arc 1600 fromt he Train station, but I suppose this will not start running until 9am? You can then get free resort buses to 1800.

The funicular will be included on your LEs Arcs Ski pass

Hi,

the funicular runs from about 7 am you can get a ski pass next to the station. Dont get a paradiski pass for Le Plangne the cable car link is not working.

When you get off the funicular at ARC 1600 you need to take a left to get to the free bus service. It is only a short walk. With your ski pass the funicular and bus service is free.

www.lesarcs.com contains an interactive map of all the bases. You should find the location of your accomodation on this relative to the stop.

ARC1800 is a good base for accessing the whole area easily. Have a good week.

:Dhi,
you can purchase a ticket just for the funicular,at the bottom in bourg the ticket/lift pass office is right next to the funicular you can purchase a ticket there,at the top of the funicular in 1600,as you enter the platform for the funicular there is a set of turnstyles you can purchase a ticket there also, the cost is i think 4euros each way.

many regards
jon.
