We will be going to Canazei on 16th Feb. 1st time here but I have stayed in Arabba many times which is about an hours ski away.
The skiing is pretty much aimed at intermediate mileage gobblers who like great scenery. The features of the area are the Sella Ronda route which you can take either way around which makes for a good touring type day out especially if you drop of the main route and visit some of the other linked ski areas. There are plenty of red/blue runs but if you do your homework it is possible to find some tougher blacks to add a bit of spice to the day.
Also don't miss out of the hidden valley at Lagazoui which you need to get a bus/taxi for from Armentarola. This is a fantastic ski through some of the most spectacular scenery, including a huge set of frozen water falls. This culmulates in being towed by horse and sleigh ( small charge of about 3 euros ) along a long flat section back to Armentarola.
If you do get a chance of a day out to Cortina then that is worthwhile too.
Food is less expensive than France and generally good quality and there are lots of mountain restaurants.
Enjoy!!
