Ise,
Just viewed your excellent pictures. May I ask, what camera do you have?

Keep pictures coming!
I use the Tubes TD 91 model shoes. They are smaller that typical shoes but you do not have to walk with "wide" stance!

I have a malemut dog that just loves to lead, when ever I go out for "walk"!

I have three, all canons, an EOS 5D, EOS 350D and an A95. I used the 350 today, not as good as my 5D but much lighter and easier to use with my arm injury. They're all shot raw with 2/3 stop underexposure and manually white balanced.

Hi guys we are looking to buy some when
we go down this year.We are in the Jura so
the snow is heavier at times than Alps. The shops
have a large selection,is there any thing we need to
look out for in particular.

Here in Europe we largely use composite raquettes, in much colder weather you need aluminium ones and a larger footprint for really, really deep powder. TSL are pretty much the market leader I think and their website has a product selector that's quite good.

The local store's given me some demo Inook Experts which are French and I really quite like them but Tubbs and MSR both do nice composite models as well. For me there's not much difference. The product selector on the TSL site will give you an idea about the length you need which should basically transfer between models.

Otherwise, good waterproof boots, I use Lowa mountaineering boots, gaitors are absolutely essential and some trekking poles and you're away.

Raquetting in the Jura is pretty popular, where will you be?

we just bought some new ones, we've now both got Inooks, after having some on demo' I was happy enough to buy our own. Gave them the first outing over the weekend : http://snowslider.net/2007/12/02/praz-cornet-col-des-mosses/

I really, really rate the heel riser on these, it makes life so much easier and it's actually easier to use than the one on my skis.

Not sure how the snow is over at Metabief so far, I'm about 50km from there right now and can see over onto the Jura, looks like the snowfall last night was fairly substantial. In fact, we might go over that way on the weekend for a change.
