Tignes Les Brevieres, Tignes Les Brevieres

Tignes Les Brevieres, Tignes Les Brevieres this resort keeps comming up on my "Skidar" is it actually a place or space staition?
I know its a resort really but does anybody actually rate it?
Or is it ....well another Whistler?

Piste off?......dont be, yes its a resort not a space staition!!

This is what you must do to:

1: Go to the above web site.. yes its very informative on Tignes Les Brevieres you may even be attracted to one of the fine apartments on offer here. (who knows)
2: come and visit us in this paradise of snow and large pointy hills.
3: not be so piste off!!!

I would recommend you try the other villages in Tignes.

Well, definitely not another Whistler :lol: . It's a small village at the base of the Tignes system, close to the dam. Gondola access to the main Tignes ski area. Several long runs back into Brevieres which are quite challenging, but conveniently finish outside several restaurants and bars :D

I would recommend you try the other villages in Tignes.

Why ? Le Lac and Val claret are huge and not really good looking and most of the time les Brevieres have better snow because there is no wind and it's protected by the mountains around.
Plus it's a lovely and the only typical alpine village with the best restaurants in the all Espace Killy area (value for money)and very friendly bars.
Human size village where if you go out every night you can easily meet people and it has the longest and probably most technical black slope in Europe "La Sache".

The last two seasons les Brevieres has had the worst snow in the Espace Killy.

Sorry, I really can't let you say that. When did you go in May ?
I've been working there the last 5 years and was in Les arcs last year, and still the snow was better in les Brevieres.

Two years ago it was an amazing snow with 2 metres on the roof, couldn't clean the terrace, too much snow, so hubby and I decided to go in Val and Tignes for a good day of fresh powder.
Some pistes were amazing and some had been blown away by the wind, but not in Brev because there is never as much wind.

Obviously it's the lowest resort (1550 m) so end of april or when it's really warm it's not so good but most of the time it is.

I can't say last year was the best because it wasn't everywhere around the Alps, other than that i'm maybe not impartial cause I really love the spirit and the ambiance of this little village.
But you can not say the years before were bad.

I hope if you have the opportunity to go in Espace Killy again you'll give it an other try and like it !
