New Alpine Coaster to open in Thredbo, Australia

Today is exactly one month until Thredbo Resort in Australia opens for the 2024 winter season.
The Winter 2024 Opening Weekend will also see the opening of the brand-new Thredbo Alpine Coaster - the Southern Hemisphere's first-ever luge on rails.
The coaster is 1.5km long and riders can hit speeds of up to 40km/h on a track featuring a tunnel, bridges and loops.
Construction on the Thredbo Alpine Coaster started in October 2023 and is on schedule to be completed later this month. The track is fully installed and the final installation of electrical and control systems, walkways, handrails and fencing and taking place now.
The final stage will be safety testing by independent third-party engineers, ready for the first customers next month.
