The events team behind The Mighty Coe festival have announced a day of snowsports action and events – on and off the hill – taking place on Saturday 2nd March 2024.

In place of a full festival, the Mighty Coe Winter Sessions supported by The North Face will provide affordable access to crucial snowsport action, skills and entertainment - all in one day.

Daytime sessions include guided backcountry tours and avalanche skills sessions at Glencoe Mountain Resort, while the evening session will bring the much-loved Mighty Coe Snow Film Night to Fort William.

The North Face Development Team athletes Matt Pavitt and Jordan Ray will be attending the Winter Sessions and appearing at the Snow Film Night alongside a superb collection of films and snowsport-based entertainment including Descendance presented by The North Face and Dennis Ranalter, IF3 Breakout Skier of the Year. The snow films session, hosted in the beautiful Highland Cinema in Fort William, also looks like being one of the best value nights-out of the year with give-aways, free beers and pizza.

The Scottish winter mountains can provide fantastic snowsport experiences, but also a significant set of challenges and safety issues. The outdoor Winter Sessions will offer vital education as well as lots of fun in a mountain environment.

Neil Dalgleish from Mighty Coe organisers Hillside Outside said, "It's going to be a fantastic day – we're delighted to be working with some top athletes and mountain professionals to give access to some fantastic times on the hill, crucial skills and education, and not least an amazing night out in Fort William. Big thanks to The North Face for supporting The Mighty Coe and making this all possible."

Scottish snow enthusiasts know quick reactions are needed to make the most of winter conditions here, and the same applies for the Winter Sessions. Places for all sessions are limited.

Proceeds from the evening will be donated to Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team and Protect Our Winters.
