Hi all
Just a general enquiry and a bit vague but open to suggestions we are a family of four adult intermediates usually blues and red runs we've been to Austria a few times Obergurgl, Zell am See, Mayerhofen also Zermatt & Saas Fee but looking for somewhere snow sure flying from Dublin not too bothered about Apres ski.
We usually book a hotel half board through Crystal though I note there half price ski pass offer has now expired but happy to book flights accomodation seperately if cheaper.
So can anyone offer any suggestions apologies for being a bit vague thanks for any help.

Three weeks is a long time in weather... but it's looking pretty good right now, so you'll be fine.
That is a fantastic place to ski, I suggest staying in Zermatt for the sweet quiet x-mas feeling of the village!

I would just recommend you look for high resorts. Plenty in France, but much more expensive than you will be used to in Austria (although cheaper than Swiss resorts) and personally I found accommodation in France is nowhere near as good as Austria. If you are going to book with Crystal transfers will be included. If you book your own flights and accommodation, check transfer costs as they can be expensive. Also, Xmas tends to be busy in most places as schools are off in all countries.
Anyway, good luck and hope you have a great time.

Cervinia in Italy, linked with Zermatt in Switzerland would be a good place to look at.

The place I have been at Xmas is Obertuern ...usually snow sure and varied runs ..nothing too difficult It is in a bowl and you can ski round the village ..lots of restaurants and nice hotels ...Flying to Salzburg and a short (2hr) transfer https://www.obertauern.com/en/service-info/getting-there/fly-shuttle.html

Fly to Venice. Take the ski shuttle from Marco Polo Airport on Saturday/Sunday to Arabba - about a 3 hr ride north-northwest of Venice. Enjoy the Evaldo Hotel - 4 star. Obtain a Dolomiti SuperSki ski pass at the hotel. Enjoy scenic enjoyable skiing, first class lift system, quality food, delightful people. You won't regret the experience. Been going for 20 years in December. Never an on piste snow availability problem. On a very rare occasion we've relied on unbelievably good and comprehensive snow blowing. Shuttle bus info is available through the Arabba Office of Tourism. Shuttle runs twice-a-day on Saturday and Sunday and on December 26.

Well we got overloaded with choices took the easy option and booked to go back to Zell am See. I get the usual snow reports but anyone know what the snow conditions for 23 Dec will be like.
