We are a mixed ability group going to Samoens and Grand Massif. Is it possible to ski the whole area on greens and blues? What is the ski school like? How frequently does the bus run around the resorts and are you allowed to pay if not skiing? Supermarkets for self catering? What is there for non skiers? Can you get a bus to other places? Just trying to gather information for the group to help us make informed decisions. I know I'll get some good answers on here
Rather a bad day on the slopes than a good day in the office!

I went there some years ago so my answers might be out of date but I remember it as quite a bustling little place , not really a ski village but a bustling little town . The ski bus went round all the lifts up the mountain as far as Verclans but not as I remember it to the other ski villages, and it was free .There was a bus service I think to Morillon and Carroz.
Thats all the help I can give I'm afraid

Beautiful village! The whole valley is gorgeous. There are some nice walks along the river for non skiers and they can also go snowshoeing up the mountain. They will be able to access Samoens 1600 from the GME or the gondola in Vercland so they can meet up with the skiers for lunch. The buses in the valley are free but don't run nonstop (There is an app you can download with live updates and timetables). There are two supermarkets in the village which are quite small and there is a Carrefour just outside the village. You can ski to all of the resorts on blue runs but some of those runs can be challenging blues due to conditions and traffic. All the ski schools are good, I have used ESF and Zigzag in the past.
