Very giddy - looking forward to Cortina in 11 days. We're flying into Innsbruck and driving down. In the good old days pre Covid it was a straight drive with (I seem to recall) no border checks, but I'm hearing now there can be queues up to 2 hours at the Brenner pass? Anyone done this route recently? What's the current situation?

Don't know about delays into Italy but have flown into Italy no probs. Also just driven from Uk to Austria via Holland, Germany then Austria apart from uk boarder and a wick check in Holland no further checks at all. Good luck it certainly feels like travel is back . Don't forget snow tyres and vinyette for Austria.

Hi I'm going out to Cortina in a few weeks a couple of tips would help out with the latest news on bars to drink in, places to eat on a budget, are the bars restaurants taking cash and cards. I've just ordered my LFT home testing package from prenetics prior to flying. So hoping all goes well have a safe journey

From 1 March 2022 Italy will eliminate the country lists https://www.salute.gov.it/portale/nuovocoronavirus/dettaglioContenutiNuovoCoronavirus.jsp?lingua=english&id=5412&area=nuovoCoronavirus&menu=vuoto from that date the rules regulating entry into Italy will be standardized, no matter where you are traveling from the following will be required:
– a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) in digital or paper form;
– a Covid-19 Pass (vaccination certificate, recovery certificate or negative molecular or antigen test certificate.
The new rules will remain in force until at least 31 March.
Once there you will still need a 'Green Pass' to access most services https://italygreenpass.com/super-green-pass-requirements-chart/
