I know the Snow in this resort was limited back in January but recent reports suggest its being dumping it down! Its always tough to gauge on the Weather reports. Anyone just come back in the last day or too with news?

I am off there on Sunday. It looks like the snow lower down is very limited, but higher up, and over at Montgenevre its pretty good.
Lower temps next week too, so early morning skiing is the order of the day.

Got back Sunday 25th. First impressions on Sunday 18th when we arrived and it was 20c in the village were that the apres ski might be getting a hammering, but the temp dropped on Monday drastically to minus 16c, giving minus 25c with the wind chill.
Monday mornings skiing was tricky with the ice, but it softened up nicely that afternoon. Tuesday was a great days skiing, and it came down that afternoon a few cms, and Weds we took a trip over to Montgenevre where they had loads of glorious snow and we even off pisted over there, it was so good.
Thursday they opened the link to Sestriere, and the snow there was also excellent. It snowed a fair bit on Friday on and off, and then saturday afternoon it was pretty consistent up the mountain, but nothing in resort.
It was therefore somewhat surprising getting up Sunday morning to 10cm of snow in resort - typical on the day we were leaving.

However, despite the run into the village being closed through lack of snow, the runs up the Clotes and Sportina lifts were in first class condition, and I have to say I did my best weeks skiing last week in Sauze. Its a paradise for long cruises, and March seems to be a good time to go as its nice a sunny.

Everyone there is really friendly, you cant get on a chairlift without meeting someone new who wants to chat, share some info, find out where you have been, and inevitably you bump into someone who knows a friend of a friend back home.

Brilliant week, brilliant place, brilliant skiing, and I will be back next season for some more of that, thanks.

Go there.
