Ski Canada/USA thoughts, costs?

We have just returned from an average week in Sauze in Italy. When I have a bit more energy I will do a full trip report - all in all it was very icy, windy causing many closed lifts!

While we were away our thoughts went to where to go 2020. We have all done many places in Europe and were wondering what it would be like to go across the Atlantic. Whilst it is likely to be more expensive than europe, we don't really have a feel for what a 'reasonable price' is. £1kpp, £1.5k pp, no idea? Tour operator or DIY, drive to resort from hotel or ski in/out.

I know this is pretty broad, but are there any useful pointers?

Hi, Firstly I love Sauze but had a poor week last year high winds so confined to the local runs for 3 days and I felt more could have been done to keep at least a few more local runs open. I feel it will be some time before I return.
Thinking of going to Canada it great but no better than many places in Europe. But it's a long way and the extra journey time takes it toll. It's expensive but so are many resorts in Europe. Whistler also suffers from high winds. Most accommodation is room only or B and B. I like chalet or half board when skiing . I also think it's best to go for 10 days rather than 7 due to journey times. If you have never been it's worth going for the experience but I would allow at least £2000 pp for holiday ,lift pass and food . Andy
