Snow Bases in Australia Pass 1m Mark as Snow Keeps Dumping

J2SkiNews posted Jul-2018

Mt Hotham ski resort in Australia has posted a 102cm snowbase as the snowfall of the past few days moves up a notch ahead of what looks certain to be an epic powder weekend down under.

Hotham has posted the biggest snowfall of the past 24 hours, with 24cm reported and a little more expected overnight before a forecast clear but sunny weekend.

The resort says it will open its Orchard terrain mid-morning tomorrow as a result of all the fresh snow.
Thredbo and Perisher which reported slightly smaller accumulations are both reporting 99cm bases. Perisher now has a forecast of clear sunny skies for the next three days.

Most Aussie ski areas are now operating at, or close to, full capacity with all lifts running and all or most runs open.
