I wanted my kids to get a bit of extra practice in before our holiday next month, so took them along yesterday to Chel-Ski in...Chelsea, London.
I've tried this myself before: it's a bit like a treadmill for skiers and it's not forgiving at all - you really need your best technique or it won't work at all.
There were a few other centres run by Skiplex, but they've gone out of business (although I think the Reading one is now under new ownership), but as an alternative to a snow dome, it's a great option. A key point is that you get so much more time skiing as there's no lifts, plus the instructor can see you and you can see yourself, so you get immediate visual feedback.
