I am looking to visiting Verbier for a days skiing as part of my holiday to Switzerland. as i dont drive, i have figured out i can get there by train to le chable (bottom of verbier mountain) and then pick up a cable car to take me up the mountain. has anyone gone this way to verbier before? is it easy to get from train station to the ski resort itself or is the cable car a distance away from the train station?
i would also like to hire some skis boots & buy a lift pass for the day and possibly book a ski lesson for my partner? does anyone know of a site where i can pre-book all these in advance that is accessable once i reach le chable/verbier? i have skied before however my partner hasnt and i want to give him a taste of what a ski holiday is like so he will want to go on one next year!

thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, it's a really easy way up. The lift links directly into the next lift -The Medran-up in the middle of town, so you don't even have to go out of the lift station. There is a ski hire shop at the bottom in the lift station at Le Chable, though I don't know if they are online.

We are going next week to Verbier itself and have done skihire in Verbier online through SkiSet, and I think the shop is in the main square-about 5 mins walk from the Medran lift. But if I were you, I think I'd look into doing it in Le Chable at the lift and then you don't have so much walking to do.
Have fun

OH..yes..I should add, the lift station at Le Chable is across the car park from the railway station-about 50m, and there is a ski ticket office at the lift station too. As far as I am aware however, as yet you cannot buy lift passes online in Verbier.
