Australian Ski Areas looking good as the country shivers

An "Antarctic Blast" has brought cold weather to much of Australia this week, particularly the East Coast, but has also brought over 70cm of snow to major ski resorts including Perisher and Thredbo.

Blizzards dropped nearly half a metre into the ski areas of New South Wales over Thursday night and into Friday, with settling snow reported in Thredbo village.

Hotham reported over half a metre of new snow last week.
