More Fine Dining in Savoie Ski Resorts

More stars for Savoie Mont Blanc

The 2015 Michelin guide is out and more stars have been awarded to restaurants in Savoie Mont Blanc. There are now 36 Michelin starred restaurants in the area: 2 x 3-star, 12 x 2-star and 22 x 1-star, so a total of 52 stars.

La Bouitte in Saint Martin de Belleville got a third star, l'Atelier d'Edmond in Val d'Isère got a second star and three restaurants were awarded their first stars: Le Bois Prin in Chamonix, L'Ekrin in Méribel and L'Epicurien in Val Thorens.

I once read that Courchvel has more stars than any other place in France, bar Paris!

In some ways this is ammo to the "France is expensive" brigade - however you don't have to eat in Michelin starred places!

Shows though that there must be a demand for haute cuisine in these places or they wouldn't bother - interesting to see if the collapsing Rouble has an effect on this over the next few years...

Agree with andyoneill - in Courchevel it is vital to look at the menu and price list outside before going into a restaurant up the hill or in town.
Outward appearance doesn't really link to what may be the price.
