Hi
I'm off to Zakopane in a few weeks and want to hear from anyone out there at the moment - firstly, how's the snow? Secondly, any recommendations of any sort, ie slopes to go to, what to do in and around town, etc
We've never been to Poland before so I'll be interested to hear anything useful from people with experience of it.
Thanks all!

Bialka Tatrazanska is the largest ski area around Zakopane with I suppose 12-15 kms, Consists on 3 chairs and a couple of buttons. 1 Black (short) 3 or 4 reds and a few easy blues. Tends to be busy with suicidal Polish blokes, often with no piste skills or etiquette trying to get from top to bottom as fast as possible. The whole area around Zakopane is littered with lots of small runs each needing a separate lift pass. I learnt to ski there and for that it is good but once you find your feet you need to go to the bigger Alpine resorts. Zakopane itself is a lovely place, chocolate box houses in the town, prices really good and the food great. The Polish people are very friendly. A Brit firm Sunshine World operate from there. This link is quite good for some of the pisted areas around. Hope that helps http://www.sunshineworldpoland.com/html/poland_ski_areas_at_a_glance.php
