Anywhere end of March has a gamble on skiing back to resort.
However, I have been there in April and skied back to resort level, albeit a bit tough and not the best, and last March I was there 3rd week and we had a massive dump of snow, 1.5 metres in 36 hours.
Yes it could be fine, and it could also be tricky, but experience tells me in March Serre Che is pretty much nailed on snow even down to the valley level.
You can always ride the lifts down the last section worst case scenario, but I wouldnt be thinking about not being able to ski down to the resort that time of year personally.
Great place by the way.

There's a lot of snow there now. As long as it stays relatively cool you should be all right. SC goes from very high to relatively low. As Tony says, you can at least take a lift down from the Mid Station. Which village will you be staying in?

No worries, great tree-lined runs down. Say Hi to the folks at the Peyra Juana mountain restaurant. Well worth a visit!!

Excellent choice of resort - Monetier is my personal favourite of the Serre Chevalier villages. The Peyra Juana is one of the friendliest mountain pitstops I have ever come across. Depending on how close to the slopes you are staying, there is a consigne by the chairlift where you can store your skis and boots for the week - about 20 euros I think.
