1. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional

2. Forget the health foods,,,,,I need all the preservatives I can get

3.When you fall down while skiing, you wonder what else to do while you"re down there.

4.You are getting old when you get same sensation from a rocking chair that you got riding old chair lifts

5. Its frustrating when you have all the skiing answers, but no one bothers to ask you the questions.

6. Time is great healer, but lousy beautician

7. Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

8. You know you are old when 5 year old helps you off chairlift.

9. You know you are old when you look for the laces in the ski boot liner!

10. You know you are old, when you hold the chair support cable to go up hill!

These are but a few gems! Can the mature skiers in this site come up with more!

If you are 50 or less you are not considered mature enough to comment. Only the serious immature +50 skiers are allowed to comment!

Enjoy!

I'm two weeks away from qualifying for this thread. That's thought provoking in it's self, but the older you get, the more you realise that you are counting down the seasons. That this may be the last chance to push through that barrier that's holding you back.

11. Your growing old when staying fit for the winter season is no longer optional.

No No, In skiing you will always find new barriers ( I rather called them new challenges) ! That is what keeps you young.
Remember once you are over the hill,,,,you go faster down!

You are right however, I used to ski with the idea to get maximum skiing for my lift ticket. It was always a distance/time battle. Now I have new attitude in skiing;
I am in it for the long haul thus know it is the "marathon' attitude that prevails

I am in skiing for the experience of freedom

The "little moments" last a life time.

Hope Santa was nice to you Trencher!
