This will be our first time skiing in the Dolomites - in fact in Italy. We are travelling independently and staying at a B&B in Santa Christina. We will have a hire car and were hoping to drive to various gondola stations depending on the area we want to cover. I seem to get the impression that parking may be a problem - is this the case? Alternatively do any of the lift stations have rentable lockers? We are, I believe in walkable distance to the Saslong lift
Any other advice would be appreciated. Would class ourselves as cautious intermediates. Hope to try Sella Ronda at some point.

No need to go up to Selva with the car. If you take the Sasslong lift and then the chair to the top, you can then ski down to Selva and cross the road via a foot bridge straight onto a chair that takes you towards Corvara and the Sella Ronda.
If you want to go round the Sella Ronda it will only take about 4/5 hours. The skiing is not difficult no blacks just reds and blues.
We have been to this area for the last five years its Great!
Enjoy!

Never tried to park a car at any of the gondola stations actually on the Sella Ronda. I've always walked or used the frequent (and free) buses. There always seemed to be lots of room at the Col Rodella in Campitello. (We were within easy walking distance.)

There also seemed to be loads of space at the Ciampac in Alba/Penia. This is part of the Dolomiti Superski area but is a separate area to the Sella Ronda. My one experience of actually parking a car in the area was at Ronchi (near Moena) for the Lusia area. We were there three years ago in March. Couldn't have been easier! :) And FREE! Good luck. :)

My advice is forget the car and use the bus. The buses run frequently, if a little off the published timetable. They run about every 10 minutes, starting at 8.20 until about 18.00. If you get caught late in the day coming off the slopes too late, just call a taxi. There are usually taxis waiting at the glass bridge near the Costabella and Ciampinoi lifts in Selva, if you get caught there. I have not taken a cab to St Christina but I would expect it to cost about 15 euro. The Ronda will take a good 4 hours if you are quick or 5 at a leisurely pace. Better still, allow 6/7 hours and stop for a good lunch along the way. There are plenty of great eating places to choose from. The snow is great at the moment, the best in Europe, you're going to have a fantastic time.
