The new Auenfeldjet link to Warth is now open and we used it last week. We only managed once to get all the way over there or back without it stopping however and clearly there are a few teething troubles to sort out. The blue run in Lech down to the link has now become a mix of progressing beginners and fast experts who can't wait to get over to Warth it seems! Once over in Warth, it is an ok red run off the gondola but quite a tricky red back down to the gondola. So early beginners beware! Our favourite cruisy run in Warth was W4 down to a very nice cafe.
The skiers piling off the ski buses coming into Lech now seem to be heading for the link to Warth rather than into the Rufikopf cable car.

I am heading to Stuben in February so might think about a trip over this link.

Does it take long to get across? Did you feel it was worth the effort? Apart from the couple of runs you mentioned is the skiing any good on the Warth side?

The gondola journey is probably less than 10 minutes - but it stopped so many times when we were on it that it felt much longer! I would recommend going over to the Warth runs - although not all were open as we were so early in the season. As well as W4 blue, there were a couple of black runs down to the cafe near the Salober Jet chair. We also encountered the Schaukel Falken chair with some rather nice cruisy blues and reds, but if you want to get off the chair at the mid-point, make your mind up quickly!

I used the link last week - the gondola is running fine. There's a great black over the back but the run back to the gondola was like April skiing - slushy and hard work.

Looking forward to exploring the new area in just over 3 weeks time.
