Ski Sunday returns to our screens for its 36th consecutive year with presenters Graham Bell and Ed Leigh. The series features the thrills and excitement of the men's and women's alpine tour as they build towards the Winter Olympics in Russia in February. Ski Sunday opens for business from the French resort of Val D'Isere with the men's Giant Slalom which was won in 2012 by Marcel Hirscher, the best skier in the world last year. Ed Leigh catches up with snowboard legend and winter sport icon Shaun White in an exclusive interview and Vancouver gold medallist Amy Williams turns tourist guide as she introduces us to all that Val D'Isere has to offer.

Afternoon tea/beer, mince pie and Ski Sunday. Job done. 8)

I have been watching some of the skiing from the US on Eurosport. Chemmy has been commenting and has been really good - her level of insight is the best I've heard anywhere. She also seems to know all the ski racers and whats going on with them. A great addition. Unfortunately,for us, she is now going off to ski herself and will not be commenting for the foreseeable future. A definite career waiting for her once she is finished skiing competitively if wants it :wink: .

Eurosports coverage of the racing has been superb again. Chemmy is a welcome addition IMO as not only is she very current, but she seems to actually know what shes on about unlike the bumbling Irish/Scottish co commentator who says things like "look at this wonderful fast skiing" as the racer comes in 2 seconds behind, or "looks like he/she is well off the pace here" as they put 1 second under the fastest time!!!!

That, Tony H, is the dreadful co-commentator John Clark. He may well have been an accomplished racer and coach but is utterly useless as a summariser. He never knows when to shut up and let the pictures do the talking. I have asked Eurosport to put a sock in his cakehole, but they have failed to heed my pleas!

Yep that's him. Clueless is not the word! Anyway it will be good to have ski Sunday back, if nothing more than just looking at the snow
