I have found ( what I think is a good deal ) at the Ski Jump Hotel in Pragelato where the kids go free. I seem to think this will mean we have to bus to Sestriere for the skiing . can't seem to find a definitive answer on the net...!
Anyone been ? Any feedback ? We have two kids ( 8 and 10 ) who will both be in ski school and I am assuming that the ski school will be in Sestriere. We are on a tight budget so kids go free seems to be a good deal .. any tips really appreciated ta x

We looked at this place to take our school. Pragelato has its own runs, a few blues and reds, and was informed by the ski company there is now a gondola joining it to Sestriere but I can't find it shown on any documentation or piste map. Tried Google earth but could not see it. Of course the MW is extensive as long as its open because the area has an iffy snow record and is not extensively covered with snow cannons. Sestriere should be ok though as its one of the higher bits. The runs down to Claviere and hence onward to Montgenevre are sometimes shut due to no snow and the lower slopes of Sauze can be a bit barren of the white stuff! I believe you can get a local pass for Sestriere (about 80kms) if you wish to keep costs down but to be honest the difference between that and a full pass is quite small for the extra 320kms.

Have been to Sauze/Sestriere and I think your options to Sestriere from Pragelato are a cable car or shuttle bus. Plenty info on Tripadvisor to help you make up your mind.
