Hi

Does anyone have any suggestions on ski resorts that are good for skiers who like to travel a lot of ground along with some that don't want to ski everyday and so would like other activities such as walking and cross country skiing. Any advice and thoughts greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

How active are the "other activities"? Sounds like you want "towns with good skiing" rather than just ski resorts, so... how about Serre Chevalier (lots of different activities in the area and an actual town - Briancon - to explore)?

Will you have your own transport or be relying on public transport and/or tour operator transfers?

Thanks for getting back to me! They would be relying on public transport but will ski some days so its just finding somewhere with opportunity do do other things if conditions are not ideal. Somewhere with nice walking routes and possibility to learn cross country would be ideal? Will have a look at serre chevalier, thanks for the suggestion!

Bourg? really?

We drove through and it looked grim.

Back on topic, i would suggest that many large resorts offer activities for the non skier, all towns offer are more shops.
