Want recommendation for month long stay in Schladming or Flachau in Feb & Mar

I will be getting the Ski Amade season pass, mainly going to the Schladming & Salzburger Sportwelt ares, although I will do a diversion every now and then to Gastein & Maria Alm, etc. I will be staying for perhaps up to 2 months (if the snow stays strong until mid April), but definitely a month and a half.

I've skied all the areas before, and had stayed in Schladming (or perhaps it was Randstadt?) in 2000, I believe, back when the USD was high, and stayed at a pension for the incredibly low price of like 10 USD/day! With the EUR high, that would equate to close to 20 USD/day, and as well there could be some inflation (but maybe not as Europe is in a recession.)

Anyway, that was only for a few days, so I figure that I should be able to get a decent discount if I go a whole month. I'd appreciate any advice for plans I could make before hand, so that I don't just show up at the tourist information office looking for a place then.

All I need is the standard single room in a pension with the bathroom down the hall - and of course, the internet.

You don't say whether you will have transport during your stay.
Given all the investment that has gone into Schladming over the last 13 years leading up to the 2013 Wordl Cup, I think you will struggle to find such cheap accommodation again. if you have transport, you can go further afield and get something cheaper. there will still be some cheaper accommodation around Schladming but I personally don't know any. I think you should contact the local tourist information. they will have the detailed local info you will need for a search of this kind. Good luck!

I will not have any transport. I don't have to stay in Schladming or Randstandt. I could stay near the resorts of the Salzburger Sport Welt. I should be able to catch a bus or train to anywhere I want. I would like to be within walking distance of either of these areas, however.
