Do you know the Massif Central?
I am 59, nervous, unco-ordinated and acrophobic. I have now managed to get from the top to the bottom of an artificial ski slope with some measure of control and the instructor reckons I am ready for snow. I have free accomodation available to me not too far west of Le Mont Dore and Superbesse and could go anytime in the next month. Are there any green runs which are long and gentle and easy to ski there? I would be quite happy doing the same run again and again until I got the hang of it.

This one has caught my interest because I love that area. I have had some of my best summer holidays in and near the Auvergne. I have often wondered about checking out the skiing there. It looks like there's a long(ish) green called Bois Joli at the top of the Falaise lift towards the right hand side of the Superbesse map.
Have a great time there and I look forward to reading your review when you get back. -)

Le Mont Dore looks even better for you. Loads of green pistes all over the bottom of the map. :)

Am I right in thinking this is the area south of clermont-ferrand on the drive down to Montpellier via the Millau bridge?

That's the one. Walking, biking, horse-riding, canoeing and motor-cycling heaven. Ooops, cats out the bag now ;-)
